Ambigram

Ever since I saw the cover of Dan Brown's Angels & Demons, I thought it would be neat to try to create my own ambigram. Ambigrams are words or phrases that can be read in more than one way or from more than a single vantage point, most commonly right-side-up and upside-down. I created this very basic one ("thepinkbelly") with the help of ambrigram.matic.com (online ambigram generator) and tips from ambigram.net.

Photoshop Tutorials

Flickr Toys

Visit fd's Flickr Toys for a bunch of great ways to have fun with your photos including a Hockneyizer, Mosaic Maker and Framer. There's also a Flickr group photo pool that showcases people's creations.

Flickr On Your iPod

I thought it would be neat to sync my Video iPod with my Flickr pics. In order to do this, I found a couple tools that download your Flickr pics locally. Flickr Backup has a very nice interface and more features, but wasn't 100% reliable for me. I decided to use FlickrDown -- it's barebone, but worked.

Both these tools create subfolders for each photoset. So I have a folder called "Flickr" and have the tool create the subfolders and populate them with the photos. From iTunes, I just point to the "Flickr" photo and -- voilà -- Flickr on your iPod!
